Quality Products and Service
As a leading retailer renown for its choice, value and service, The John Lewis Partnership puts quality at the heart of its business.
Clean Distribution Centre
At the heart of its distribution network is a 440,000sq ft distribution centre in Brackmills, kept clean by a pair of Euromec machines; a 703 ride-on sweeper and Jumbo ride-on floor scrubber. Given the size of the centre and the nature of the cleaning task the two machines work well in tandem to keep the floor spotless.
Floor Scrubber and Sweeper
The sweeper zips around the centre keeping dust and debris to a minimum. The scrubber drier produces a more thorough clean and it used when necessary to clean-up spillages. It also is used to routinely deep clean the whole floor.
Since their delivery the machines have performed well and as was confirmed by the centre’s Branch Maintenance Manager “The support received from Euromec was excellent.”
Problem: you have a solar panel farm and you need to keep the grass tidy and away from the panels so they can do their thing.
Euromec and Kubota Solution
Solution: Kubota tractor from Euromec fitted with a powered, off-set mower deck! Extend the deck and you can mow in front and underneath the solar panels, irrespective of which direction you are travelling.
At the end of a row the driver turns the tractor around and swings the mower deck from one side to the other using the hydraulic ram. Simple, quick and foolproof. Another innovative solution from Euromec.
A Kubota RTV500 being prepared in our workshop last week. Now delivered to site this is one of two identical machines that will be used by DB Schenker to check trains using the Channel Tunnel. Fitted with doors and spot lights they will work 24 hours a day helping operators visually check the whole train as it arrives in the UK. Note that they have doors on the cabs to keep the operators warm and dry.
Kubota RTV500 Versatility and Reliability
Known for their strong performance and outstanding reliability these machines are top sellers. Part of a range of four different models, more information about this machine is available in the utility vehicle section of our web site.
Kubota’s new RTV’s are brilliantly popular; users love the nippy go anywhere performance and owners love the rugged build and metronomic reliability. We sell them to farmers wanting a small utility vehicle to fetch and carry, estate owners that want a way of getting around quickly and to companies for general transport and maintenance tasks.
One of the attractions of the Kubota RTV range is its high quality cab and interior. Users adapt quickly to the control layout and driving position, both being very similar to their car. Also, having wide door openings enables the driver to hop in and out easily as required.
Recently one of our customers wanted an RTV with a weatherproof cab as in their application the driver would be in the cab at night and for long periods. This meant doors had to be added. RTV doors are not an option from Kubota, so we designed and built the doors.
Kubota RTV Doors
Glazed and weatherproof, they not only seal the cab but also provide unimpeded views with both high level and low level windows. Lockable and hinged they can be retrofitted to existing RTV400 and 500 models as well as specified on a new machine.
Warehouses are hectic places with the emphasis on efficiency. Nothing is allowed to stop product picking or put away. This leaves little time for housekeeping. Euromec’s new Slalom sweeper thrives in this environment.
Powerful Floor Sweeper
Compact and powerful, the Slalom industrial sweeper is a slim 800mm wide machine with swinging side brushes that produce a 1100mm swept width. This means it can work in narrow aisles, ally ways and throughout a warehouse. Being a ride-on machine means it is quick and efficient with the potential to sweep over 6000 square metres an hour.
Battery Powered Electric Machine
Slalom is an electric sweeper with its rear wheels driven by a powerful electric motor. Power comes from twin 24 volt batteries that will keep the sweeper working for a whole shift. Weighing in at only 185 kgs, Slalom manoeuvres easily through doorways and between buildings adding to its versatility.
Dust Free Sweeping
Slalom’s excellent sweeping performance is a result of its forward throw sweeping system and fully vacuumised side brushes. This floor sweeper does not make dust as it works, unlike most of its competitors. Collected dust and debris is thrown into the Slalom’s rear mounted hopper which has a generous 3 square metre filter system to clean the exhausted air and contain any dust. An electric filter shaker completes the sweeping system and keeps the filters efficient by knocking off any dust that clings to the filter element.
Easy to Use
Operators love this machine. They sit at the front and have an excellent view of their working area. Light and intuitive controls fall easily to hand, their familiar layout being just like a car. Having the hopper at the back means that Slalom cleans into corners and around obstructions, an optional on-board vacuum cleaner ensures that all areas can be cleaned.
Large Range of Hard Surface Cleaners
Slalom is one of Euromec’s 34 different hard surface sweepers. From a small walk behind machine to a municipal road sweeper all are built to work reliably for many years in the toughest environments. Euromec provides service and spare parts for all its machines from a central head office in Leicestershire.
With our weather being its normal mix of showers and rain (sic), wet and dirty floors are a problem for most businesses. Visitors and employees cannot help but walk in water and dirt. This not only looks bad but also creates a slip hazard. Many of us have seen entrances and lobbies with “Caution Wet Floor” warning signs obstructing essential access. Imagine the scale of the problem if you are responsible for a shopping centre with thousands of visitors arriving each hour.
Step Forward The Floor Scrubber
Industrial floor scrubbers are fantastic at solving this problem. When they are used to clean floors they collect 99% of the cleaning fluid or water using a vacuum powered squeegee. Used in lobbies with wet and dirty floors, they can quickly clean and dry the floor leaving it spotless and ready for use. No caution warning signs needed now.
Big or Small
Floor scrubbers come in two flavours; walk behind or ride-on. Depending on the size of the area to be kept clean you will choose whichever suits you best. All our machines bar one are battery powered meaning that trailing power leads will not create another hazard. Even a small walk behind floor scrubber will makes short work of a lobby or entrance made wet by recent rain, so keeping your lobby clear is no longer a problem. Requiring no specific operator training,
being very easy to use and manoeuvre means anyone could use it if they thought the floor was becoming dangerous or unsightly.
With the nuisance of litter becoming greater by the day, local and City councils are coming under increasing pressure from angry residents to provide a solution: So, the launch of our new Hurricane litter vacuum could be perfect timing. Available from beginning of April, this cost effective, easy to use and cheap to run machine will collect litter, dropped fast food wrappers and bottles easily and quickly. Hurricane has been added to our wide range of municipal cleaning machines.
The Hurricane leaf and litter sweeper range solves the problem of collecting litter and leaves in public and private areas. Four models are in the range; an entry level push along model, powered driven and low-noise, driven walk-behind sweepers and the truck loader.
High Performance – Low Noise
Powered by Honda engines the Hurricane is a vacuum collector for use on lawns, pavements and in outdoor areas. An advanced fan and turbine system shifts over 2500 cubic metres of air per hour producing a vacuum powerful enough to collect the most compacted, wet litter and leaves and of course discarded cans and bottles.
Collect Litter Around Schools and Hospitals
Despite the power of the vacuum the Hurricane is quieter than competitive machines due to its low-noise design. For areas such as schools and hospitals a noise sensitive model that sounds 50% quieter is available.
Stand number 5E120 is where you will find Euromec at the 2014 Commercial Vehicle Show. Alongside our proven range of warehouse floor scrubbers and sweepers we will debut the new Model 850 mid size, ride-on sweeper.
Ride-on sweepers are used widely in the logistics and distribution industry to keep the many vast warehouses and yards clear of dust and debris. The new 850 ride-on sweeper offers a level of performance previously unobtainable at its price point. This will be of interest to the industry in its constant fight to reduce costs. Alongside its reduced capital cost the new machine is also more energy efficient than the outgoing model, offering great whole life cost savings.
Sweepers and Floor Scrubbers
Alongside the new machine will be a wide range of other industrial cleaning machines: From the best selling Brava walk behind sweeper to the super efficient Mega floor scrubber. As always the stand will be manned by cheerful Euromec engineers who will be delighted to explain the reasons behind the choice of a particular machine or advise you on the best for your situation.
Unique Multi-purpose Maintenance Machine
The chance to view the unique Powerflex machine on our stand should not be passed up. We will be showing the most powerful model, the 3400 fitted with winter maintenance equipment. Snow plough on the front, gritter attachment on the rear the Powerflex is ideal to keep busy distribution centres operational during inclement winter weather. Anyone familiar with the Powerflex will know though that during summer months it can be fitted with any manner of attachment to perform other tasks. Visit us on Stand 5E120, we will be delighted to show you around our range of products, chat about industry issues or just provide you with somewhere to rest your feet and enjoy a coffee. See you there.
A brand new sweeper has just joined our line-up – the R850. A mid-sized rider this machine replaces the R703 – a faithful servant but now showing its age a little. Major advantages of the new model are its larger size and therefore sweeping performance, strong, unitary construction which means less maintenance and its great price.
The R850 is a tough no nonsense sweeper. This makes it resistant to operator error and easy to maintain. Its simple construction makes it very reliable in even the most arduous applications.
The R850’s direct drive fans are a great example of technology reducing the number of parts and thereby increasing reliability. Add a larger filtering surface and this machine will perform much better than its predecessor in dusty environments. Other improvements include direct drive side-brush motors and a larger diameter main brush. For more details see this page on our website.
The R850 has a class leading 120 litre capacity hopper which means more sweeping between empties. Cleaning performance is enhanced by the machine’s litter gate and electric filter shakers. Available with either an electric or petrol motor this machine will provide many years of reliable sweeping.
As a break from the modern, hi-tech machines that we are always talking about thought we could look at some of the more established machinery we have! As a company we have an unusually large proportion of petrol heads with some splendid cars, bikes and toys. This post will give you a taster.
Morris Minor Van
This immaculate “Moggy” van is one example. Lovingly restored by us in our workshops this van has been re-built from the ground-up. Sign written with the legend “Euromec – Mechanical Sweeping Machines!” it was originally registered in 1967. Over 50 years old it starts on the button, if not there is the cranking handle option, see the hole in the front bumper!
Paris Dakar Anyone?
Few years back we got involved with Patsy Quick a very brave lady that competed in the Paris Dakar on a KTM motorcycle. Part of the KTM works team from memory, she was at that time the only British woman taking part. No surprise there as it was the toughest off-road event by a long way. Her bike featured the most remarkable suspension travel you have ever seen! Side effect of this was that she couldn’t reach the floor when sitting on the bike – amazing. The memory of her blasting it around the roads of our industrial estate still bring a smile to the face.
And There’s More!
More to follow on this topic. We still have E-Type Jaguars, Bentleys and various motorcycles to wax lyrically about! Send us a comment if this interests you.
